What is product feed optimization?
Feed management gets your data to a channel; feed optimization decides how well it performs once it arrives. It covers everything that makes a listing both valid and competitive: compliant attribute values, keyword-rich but natural titles, complete taxonomy mapping, correct GTINs and channel-specific image requirements.
The fields that matter most
- Titles: front-load brand, product type and the attributes shoppers search with (size, material, compatibility).
- Attributes: fill every relevant field the category offers — marketplaces use them for filters, and missing filters mean missing traffic.
- Taxonomy: map each SKU to the deepest correct category; a wrong node suppresses the listing or hides it from browse.
- Identifiers: valid GTIN/EAN/UPC values unlock better matching and avoid duplicate-listing conflicts.
- Images: meet each channel's size, background and count requirements.
Optimization is a loop, not a project
Channel requirements change several times a year, and marketplaces continuously report which listings underperform. Effective teams re-optimize on a cycle: audit the feed against current requirements, fix the gaps, resubmit, measure the publish rate and repeat.
Synaps automates the heaviest part of that loop: it detects missing or weak attributes per SKU and enriches them from structured product data, so optimization stops being a manual spreadsheet exercise.
